Embrey Dam

Fredricksburg, Virginia

Project Details

Constructed a reinforced concrete water intake structure for the US Army Corps of Engineers’ renovation of the 1910 Embrey Dam.  In consultation with the prime contractor, WG Construction provided expertise and guidance in support of excavation solutions and constructed a twenty-three foot deep cast-in-place concrete wet well, associated cast-in-place intake structure, cast-in-place concrete valve vault, mechanical pumps and piping, structural steel, and miscellaneous metals.  Work was performed up against the tidal water of the Rappahannock River to complete the project.
